On the island of Ischia, an earthquake occurred

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4 points occurred on the Italian island of Ischia on Monday evening. At least two people were killed, about 40 were injured. Dozens of buildings were destroyed. Some of the tourists leave the island ahead of schedule, fearing afteshoks.

Today, the island is practically paralyzed by traffic, no excursions are held. It is noted that the northern part of the island, the region of Caracciola, suffered most.

According to preliminary data, there are no Russians among the victims. The information will be updated.

Ischia is a popular tourist destination, in high season the number of tourists there exceeds the number of local residents.
