As it became known, this decision was made by the city administration due to complaints of local residents who are sure that the massive appearance of tourist shops spoils the appearance of historic neighborhoods. By the way, at the moment in the central part of the capital of the Netherlands there are about 280 tourist points.
Earlier, the Mayor of Rome, Virginia Ruggie signed a decree banning the use of food near historical fountains of the city. In addition, restrictions have affected domestic animals - they are now prohibited from swimming in fountains.
According to "RomaToday", the main purpose of such restrictions is to protect the historical attractions of the city from tourists. Now travelers are forbidden not only to have a snack in fountains, but also to throw in them any objects.
Nevertheless, the famous Trevi will still be able to throw coins into memory. Those who violate the new rules applicable to 15 Roman fountains, have a fine in the amount of 40 to 240 euros.
